The light is settling sooner, sinking deeper. Autumn is on its way. The days are still warm – stifling, at times – and the evenings are still mellow and balmy. Yolky streaks of light.
I catch a train home with a friend and walk through a new neighbourhood alone. The wind whistles through wind chimes and rustles the leaves of gum trees overhead.
